The world's first delivery truck made of sustainable composite materials

Volta Zero electric trucks use panels made of sustainable, natural, woven linen composite materials and an all-electric drive system, which is a clean and efficient way for logistics companies to transport goods.

Volta Trucks is designing a prototype of an all-electric truck. Volta Zero will meet the company's goal of providing low-emission and more sustainable delivery industry options for trucks in urban environments.

The design of Volta Zero uses a composite of carbon-neutral linen and biodegradable resin, which was developed in cooperation with the European Space Agency. Bcomp's patented powerRibs® mesh technology enhances the company's ampliTex® flax fiber technical fabric, which can match the stiffness and weight of carbon fiber, but reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 75%. The linoleum is combined with Bamd's biodegradable rapeseed oil-based resin to create the outer panel of the truck. The powerRibs? and ampliTex? composite body panels are flexible and bendable to provide an additional safety factor in the event of an accident.

Flax composite materials can maintain sustainability throughout the life cycle, and when they are no longer used, they can be burned to recover heat energy.

Volta Zero's all-electric drive system is powered by a 160-200 kWh battery pack and has a cruising range of up to 200 kilometers, exceeding the mileage sufficient for urban delivery.
